How they build on each other: Module 10 established that most of an integration's real risk is in a dependency's abnormal behavior, not its happy path. Module 11 scaled that up — a single dependency failure, tested in isolation, can hide a cascading failure only visible under realistic concurrent load. Module 12 closed the section by testing what happens after a failure: when a client retries, does the system stay correct, or does it silently duplicate a real effect?

Scenario 1: AtlasBank's account-opening flow calls both a KYC provider (required for the account to open at all) and an email provider (sends a welcome message). The email provider is temporarily unavailable during a test.
Scenario 2: AtlasBank's exchange-rate service returns its documented "rate temporarily unavailable" error, and the international-transfer API is observed silently completing the transfer using a cached rate with no disclosure to the customer.
Scenario 3: During a simulated payment-gateway slowdown, a tester notices that unrelated account-balance requests also start failing, even though balance lookups don't call the payment gateway at all.
Scenario 4: A tester sends the same fund-transfer request twice with the same idempotency key, several seconds apart, and confirms only one transfer results.
Scenario 5: A tester sends the same merchant-payment request twice with the same idempotency key, as close to simultaneously as their testing tool allows.
